Answer: At ConsumerBase we build our database from a variety of sources. First, we own our own network of websites from which we collect opt-in data. We also work with trusted partners who provide us with opt-in data. All of our data records contain, minimally, name and postal record. Additionally, we add value to our data by enhancing it with a number of demographic, lifestyle and behavioral selects.

Can I find out information on individuals using ResponderInfo or other products?
Answer: No. ConsumerBase data products are intended to be used by marketers who require data on large numbers of people. We do not make the information of individuals available.

What steps does ConsumerBase take to ensure privacy?
Answer: ConsumerBase is in the business of helping direct marketers reach receptive audiences and we take the privacy of individuals very seriously. We only collect and purchase data in which recipients have opted-in to have their information used for marketing solicitations. Further, all offers that we send meet or exceed the standards of CAN-SPAM laws, the National Do Not Call Registry and The Direct Marketing Association.

How can I be assured that ConsumerBase data is of high quality?
Answer: We take great pains to ensure the quality and hygiene of the data we provide. We run all new records through the U.S. Postal Service’s National Change of Address (NCOA) database and test new email addresses for deliverability before they are added to our database.
Question:
Does ConsumerBase data come with a guarantee?
Answer: No. ConsumerBase enjoys an excellent reputation for data quality within our industry. However, due to the multiple variables that go into a direct marketing campaign such as the creative, time sent and even the offer itself, we are unable to guarantee results. However, we do work closely with clients to offer performance standards for deliverability in order to give them assurances that their marketing messages are reaching their intended audiences.

Answer: We charge a 10-20% management fee for paid Search Engine Marketing (SEM). Many of our clients achieve savings on their marketing budgets within 1-2 months of using us. Our Google-Certified specialists have been managing campaigns since the beginning of SEM. They have an in-depth understanding of how the search engines operate and how to get the best CPA results for our clients.

Answer: We do not currently do work in organic search; our emphasis continues to be the paid search area.

Answer: We have an established track record with publishers. Due to the volume of impressions that we purchase on behalf of our clients, we are able to negotiate lower CPM and CPC rates for them than they would be able to secure on their own.

Answer: ConsumerBase, originally known as CustomOffers, was started in 2001. In 2002, CustomOffers was purchased by The Mosaic Group, a publicly traded company headquartered in Toronto, Canada. Later that year, due to issues unrelated to its acquisition of CustomOffers, Mosaic Group filed for bankruptcy and Larry Organ, the founder of CustomOffers, subsequently repurchased the assets of his old company. With a new name, ConsumerBase opened for business in 2003.
